Pest control. If you see a bug or a mouse in your apartment, you just call the landlord. When you are the landlord, there’s no one there to hear your screams. Dealing with unwanted pests, ie, cockroaches, mice, bees or the latest pest craze bed bugs, can become expensive. Spend just a couple hundred dollars for routine maintenance and it will save you money overall. Having to replace furniture or flooring because the varmints have set up residence, or having to have your place bombed (gased), could be very costly. In the long run maintenance is cost effective and better than waiting until it all goes to the bugs.
